Howdy howdy hey! I’ve been thinking about thinking more about that cowboy au, and so I’m trying to make some satisfying human designs for it :D this is what I’ve got so far though:

Kremy Lecroux, african American! One of the more recently learned black men after the civil rights act of 1866 (with help of course from Remy Guru) Conman and cook extraordinaire! People only ‘trust‘ him because he’s a stupid black man (wrong) The stache is still penciled on of course.

Gideon Coal, Mexican. Forced to help his pop in the Coal Mines after his mother left the two on their own with little money. His father died in the mines and Gideon was exploited (even more) as easy labor by white men. Has a set of manacles and chains he used to kill his original employers during an uprising and uses them as a lassoooooo

Morning Frost, Chinese immigrant. He originally came to America with his parents during the California gold rush. Learned English from whatever posters and newspapers he could find along with listening to white people speak. He also learned his mind games by doing the same thing. His robes are a gift from his parents when he set off to do…. Something

Gricko, Native American. He’s a younger generation, and is trying to meld into society after hearing their musics. Was kicked out of his tribe and eventually found a carnival (witchlight). There he met a young hard of hearing girl nicknamed hootsie and adopted her and ran. The two are slowly making a sort of sign language that the rest of the party eventually also learns to speak with Hootsie. Gricko picked up whittling to make toys and such for Hootsie and makes carvings of interesting animals he sees or hears about.

That’s all I have for them rn… I will likely change or flesh out certain parts of backstory’s and character designs. If there‘s any suggestions I’d love to hear them! (Im worried this comes off as insensitive or racist, I’m trying my best but there’s only so much research I can do) I’m really having fun making this so far hehe >:3c

4. 👀 A fic that you love a normal amount

Your Favorite Innocence by @hekateinhell I’m so normal about this fic so normal. Definitely have not read it dozens of times nope. But joking aside holy shit. Fic of all time. Hall of fame, even. My favorite trope ever is rule 63 and then you combine that with devil’s minion pwp and yeah it’s literally impossible for me to be normal about it. I love how they both feel so in character despite being gender swapped and it’s fluffy and sweet and literally the hottest thing ever

6. 😊 A fic that made you smile on a bad day

on an ordinary sunday by @keepoffthetardis when this was published I was feeling so awful, I had had a migraine for days and a fever and I was visiting family so I felt bad for being sick and aghh. I remember waking up and seeing the email that this was published and got so excited! I immediately fell asleep for another three hours after reading but so worth it. This fic is such a perfect combo of angst and fluff and luckily it was just enough fluff to brighten my spirits. The part specifically where Daniel is drinking sweet wine because Armand likes it… torn between wailing and grinning like a fool :]

In the Blood by @desertfangs THIS IS SOOO!!! Omg it’s so sweet. The night island content we deserve like genuinely you can’t convince me that this wasn’t what was happening after everyone left night island. Vampire Daniel is so dear to me and I love him still having his mortal mannerisms and being nervous that he’s not what Armand wants even though Armand is so so in love with him and is also worried about him and aghh this fic knocks me out in the best way possible

July 30: Aftercare by @translouisdpdl so this isn’t a romantic pairing so maybe it doesn’t count as a ship but i don’t care <3 I need more Armand and Nicki fics their dynamic is so fucked up and fun! And this fic is so so good I’ve reread it a couple of times now, the imagery is so nice and it has body horror and Armand being scary and then sweet literally what more do you need in a fic

Okay, so hear me out:

The showrunners have made this the Buck & Bucky Show and made all the changes or narrative choices with the result of (at times, purposefully) sacrificing both authenticity and storytelling for a guaranteed, uber-shippable pair who will compensate for any criticism against the show by drawing in a solid number of people interested in watching the two gorgeous leads make eyes at and sacrifice for each other. That's why they're purposefully going with (what looks like it's going to be) a very typical "I'll stall, you go, save yourself!!" situation compared to the boring truth* of one of them being put in charge of security on the march.

*Lies!! IMO there is SO MUCH nuance to Egan being unable to run away from the march with Cleven simply bc he had the responsibility of military order and leadership to deal with.
